Designer and Company Director
BA Hons Int. Arch
Creativity has always been the main thrust in Alison’s life, and having won a national schools design award when she was 16 this was to be the catalyst for the design career that followed.
Alison studied art whilst training with her mothers company in upholstery and soft furnishings, and gained a City and Guilds in upholstery and cabinet making.
Following a degree course in Interior Architecture at Brighton University she went on to work for a commercial design practice in London for four years. Alison started Fidget whilst living in London, designing and making unusual contemporary furniture and selling them through a central London showroom.
Experience of other cultures and countries has always been of interest to Alison and following a short spell abroad back-packing, skydiving, white water rafting and hang-gliding, she returned home to her roots in the Lake District to set up in her Interior Architecture practice.
Alison was awarded Cumbrian Business Woman of the Year in 2003.
